A bus error, not nice... Can you try to edit the generated Makefile
and run make test manually? Remove the string
check_display_harness;
from the Makefile (there are two locations) and then try to run
make test
With these changes, are you able to run at least the test suite (a few
errors seem to be expected on Macs)?
