Right, 100% agreed.  It's very difficult to see how to proceed without some
kind of roadmap or vision for what we think this project should become.  I
think that Trac is a great improvement over the old sf wiki so we should
take advantage of this.  I've already added two empty pages (one each for
requirements and specification), so at least we can discuss and document
this.
