Running cpsupdate has other unwanted effects, like resetting the documents
types / schemas / layouts.
A better installer / upgrader is needed.

Well. I read #105, and i bit of #586. I think #711 (from me too) is
related to those.
Do you think there is a way to get back my documents without having to
re-upload them to the site?
By doing an undo in the ZMI, yes.
