For CPS 3.5, we've decided to simplify proxy handling.

Currently a proxy is "multilingual", which means it has several languages attached to it (usually one), and a revision for each language. This answers to a use case in which the user goes to a single URL and can see a document in his preferred language.

This use case is actually not very important, and even problematic when faced with search engines.

Also it has a number of consequences on the CPS framework, and make it more complex.

We would like for CPS 3.5 to move to single-language proxies. This would mean that in order to display a folder listing, the filtering would have to be done a bit differently than today, but that's not a big problem. Publishing and merging would have to be adapted a bit. But indexing, search results and language switching would become much simpler.
