Obviously yes: the default search class is inetOrgPerson so that it
won't unless you changed that to match your settings.

So obviously it is able to find thinks, but what I do not
understand is why the retirved values are list of strings instead
of just plain strings.
That's normal, internally LDAP values are always lists.
