Let's say the storage capabilities are bigger. The main problem with CPS 4 is that this is really hard to setup because it uses several ways to talk with Java apps. (gcj / Ice / jython). This is a nightmare in production. But still, if you are motivated you can make it work (it does already work single-threaded) but as Stéfane said, we are not going to support it for sure... Plus, having a heterogeneous architecture makes it hard to maintain in our experience. By curiosity, if you want more and understand why we switched to Java, you definitely should give a quick try at Nuxeo5. A first RC is already available and is easy to setup. (you just need jdk 1.5 installed on your box) http://www.nuxeo.org/sections/downloads/ After installation, if you are still not convinced just click from the login page of Nuxeo 5 on the firefox icon to install the plugin helper. Log in and drag and drop your home folder in it. You're going to be so amazed about the injection speed ! (take a folder with 5000 documents or an mp3s folder ;) for fun) Another thing to realize is that Nuxeo 5 is really inspired from the following technologies : CPS, Zope3, Eclipse and JEE. Just we took the best out of all the technologies we like into Nuxeo 5. I'll expand in a blog as soon as I get a little bit of time. And let's be clear, the Java switch wasn't a commercial switch in the first place for those not convinced. Anyway, we are here to answer the questions you may have on Nuxeo products which includes CPS. So feel free if you got more.
