First, it will be supported for a while by Nuxeo. See the FAQ. http://www.nuxeo.com/en/java-switch/about-cps/ As well, you can follow the checkins for NXLucene and see we are still working on it at the moment because we do have customers using it : http://lists.nuxeo.com/mailman/listinfo/nuxeo-checkins The future of NXLucene will mostly depend on the community. I think the NXLucene project is a great project for Python based softwares and it is worth taking care of it for those of you still using Python as a core technology. For instance, I just opened an account to David who expressed the motivation to try out a migration to PyLucene 2.x. We, Nuxeo, will take care of the 1.0 branch for our customer's production instances. But, of course, this product as the other Nuxeo products will be rewritten in Java. Actually, I should be starting this in couple of weeks. See : http://jira.nuxeo.org/browse/NXP-154 And for more questions about this : - http://lists.nuxeo.com/mailman/listinfo/ecm > I was just getting started looking at nxLucene back in September -- > maybe I should turn my attention to SOLR instead? Solr is Java based. The next NXLucene will be Java based as well. An advantage over solr for the next NXLucene will be the tied integration with Nuxeo 5 and its content management orientation. (which is not the case of Solr). If you got more questions do not hesitate.
