Hi all,
For our applications, we are looking into using Lucene as an indexing
and search engine. We will have different client apps (amonf others,
zope-based) and one server that should host the indexes and recieve
and deal with all the requests. NXLucene seems to fit this purpose,
however, I do have some questions that you might be able to respond to:
1) I have been browsing the cps-devel list and reading the comments on
PyLucene 2.0 and NXLucene.
- Am I correct that the pylucene 2 branch
(http://svn.nuxeo.org/trac/pub/browser/NXLucene/branches/pylucene2)
contains all the necessary code?
yes it does, for pylucene-2.0.0 and pylucene-2.1.x
- What is the status of this code? Has it already been used in
production or is it more beta or even alpha like re: stability
we've had it in production for 2 weeks now, without any issue apart from
the memory leak described on the list (completely solved by moving to
gcj-4.2.0 / pylucene-2.1, this is not related to NXLucene though).
/JM
2) To me, it seems that NXLucene has been developed/optimized with
"read" in mind for online (zope/python) applications. But I assume
that any Lucene index file created with PyLucene or Lucene, will be
readable by NXLucene. Is this correct and has it been tested by anyone?
3) How active is the development on NXLucene now that Nuxeo has moved
on to Java?
Thansk in advance for the info,
kind regards,
Marc Weeber
