Hi,
Dave Kuhlman did a great work recently on English documentation, I guess
you can learn some of the things you'd like to know by reading it, it is
available on the cps-project site, along with documentation on other
subjects:
http://www.cps-project.org/sections/documentation/developers/notes_on_customizing_cps
Or is it read the source luke ?
Let's say that if you do so, you'll know more than what is already
documented :) Who said that code was not a kind of documentation anyway?
Reading the tests is also a good way of understanding how it's supposed
to be working, and I'm only partly joking :)
BTW lots of things can already be done through the user interface, like
designing new document types using the CPSTypeMaker product. The
field/schema/widget/layout machinery does not have to be mastered to use
it. I hope it is well documented enough, if not, do not hesitate to ask
questions.
Regards,
