To be more precise : I understand that all document revisions are stored
in portal_repository ; documents appearing in one's workspace are merely
proxies for the real meat. This is quite light and I would appreciate
having pointers to more accurate information.

By interface, you mean (1) the zmi ? or (2) the standard workspace ui ?
If you mean (2) and the local roles that can be defined there, I am not
sure (yet) this can lead to a solution for me since I want each EDoc
(let us call my derivative doc/product like that) instance be
immediately accessible/viewable by anonymouses all the time. I don't see
that kind of functionality available from there.

If you meant something different, I'll be glad to hear it.

BTW, the EDoc is now just a slightly extended Flexible Document.
