Thank you to Lennard and Olivier for responding; IT did help lots. I found the right places, but had to modify the install procedure to get it loaded, don't yet know whether this will cause side effects - have not tested it all yet; What I did 1. Copied the entire groupware tar ball into data/products directory again 2. Restarted machine, then restarted Zope (appeared to need the machine restart as well) 3. Went to the import tab rather than the profiles tab - the packages were not showing in the profiles tab; Imported "all steps" of the 2 packages CPSMailAccess and CPSSharedCalendars 4. Went back to profiles tab and imported the 2 packages 5. Restarted Zope 6. Viola they appeared in the right places (mail in the portal actions, shared calendars in the private area as a new page) I am testing to see if the system works - but have not had much time with it yet ...
