Actually, the economic impact of FMD on Britain is far higher 
than just the loss of livestock revenues. Tourism is off - way off. 
The numbers I've heard are 20% overall for the nation, and far, far 
higher in the Lake District and other effected rural areas. It's
creating substantial unemployment as hotels and such close
or delay seasonal openings.
