Alok, "What's wrong?" - that is a good question to ask. It's actually fine, as long as you don't call it "news"! And still better if you don't present it in the FORMAT of news. A third aspect -in case someone tends to READ the news from Newspapers or any other medium AS IT IS- copyright issue!
The danger in presenting news AS news and IN news FORMAT, there is a possibility of inviting the wrath of the monopolizers! In fact there are already dissenting voices against the private FM channels giving summary after every over or frequent reminder of scores! Ultimately, information is nobody's monopoly. It belongs to every body. But today news & information is all about money. Hence, prudence would advice us to be cautious. But if you say we produce programmes based on some news items viz. floods, disasters, absenteism, diseases, etc., nothing can be more creative and relevant than that. Even when you listen to some pvt FM radio they provide the news in their programmes but in different style ( for eg. RJ asking listeners to SMS who is the CM of Jharkhand or how much did PM sanction for flood relief etc that are really the news of today) What would we call the information that is say 8-10 days old.
