“Kumaon Vani” or the voice of Kumaon, this is the name given by the
villagers, when they first heard about their community radio station. The
project for establishing Kumaon Vani was initiated in Uttarakhand in the
year 2006. Taking it forward, TERI established a community radio station in
Supi village, Mukteshwar. Today a team of local volunteers of different
backgrounds are working as devoted radio reporters. They were trained by
Maraa under the UNESCO project on interviewing, recording, scripting and
editing skills. At present, the team is producing programs and working for
the launch. The reporters comprises of farmers, women self help groups,
school children, youth volunteers, NGO workers and local music groups.
However, I am writing today to the group to post a vacancy for a Radio
Station Manager for Kumaon Vani. The brief job profile of the proposed post
