Mission information in DU

Delhi University (DU) is all set to reopen on July 21, with the new
session bringing in thousands of freshers to the campus.

DU has got it all— popular hangout zones, libraries and shopping
centers. But what makes it even better are some of the in-house
initiatives that are being run inside the Campus for the students to
get informed and participate in issues that matter.

HT City gives you a glimpse.

DU beat:
An independent newspaper founded in 2007 by some DU students, DU beat
features, news and events happening in the campus. It comes free of
cost and is available in 15 colleges as of now.

All those itching to try their writing skills can also submit their
articles for publication. And there is more for the students in the
form of weekly columns. Popular columnists such as Sex Amma gives
gyan to all those suffering from love-life tensions.

Radio Station:
For all the wannabe radio jockeys, believe it or not, DU has its own
Radio station, called DU 90.4 FM, this community radio station is
located in North Campus and can be heard within a radius of 10
kilometers.

The station plays programmes related to education, as well as songs
and phone-in counselling. Students are also given a chance to show
their talent, as they get to be the Radio jockeys.

News Channel:
The university is also set to get its very own TV channel, called the
Delhi University Television Network (DUTN), the channel will start as
an Internet based TV network and will be available in 10 colleges in
North Campus.

Professor AK Bakhshi, Director, Institute of Lifelong Learning, from
where the channel will be broadcast says, “It’ll be like what you see
in US, which is known as Students Television Network, where all
universities are connected.”
