Dear all, Last year Gram Vaani and IIT Delhi helped run campaigns on NREGA, PDS, and RTE across 5 community radio stations. A detailed report is available here: http://124.124.247.5/cr-campaigns-v2.pdf This small experiment brought out several insights: - Community radio stations can serve as a strong forum to strengthen local governance and the implementation of government schemes - Technology support for stations such as through IVR systems and SMSes can improve their ability to engage with the community - Staff and volunteers running the stations can be guided remotely over phone and via the Internet to run a sustained coordinated campaign, validating the scalability of this approach - An interactive campaign is a much better method to bring about information dissemination and awareness, rather than merely broadcasting information Feedback is most appreciated, so do write back. regards Aaditeshwar |
