The point however is that Yugoslavia under Tito and even more

Oh, but it sure as hell is. If your entire program of self-determination for
Kosovar Albanians is to go anywhere, it must have a foundation. And if you
think that Milo is no socialist, as well may be the case, you had better be
able to prove that something *tangible* is closer to it, why Milosevic is
more the enemy of the working class (globally) rather than its friend, and
not just some abstract idea of Self-Determination.

Moreover, I put forth the statement that anyone who says that Yugoslavia
under Tito had "nothing to do with a Workers State" is helplessly bottled up
in a sectarian position that cannot grasp things that almost all Yugoslavs
have: Under Tito combined with a socialist program, tensions were almost
mute for two main reasons: A lack of national conflict because there were
not competing factions of or within a nation ( i.e.: a socialist
federation), and economic distribution and planning was not on par with
anything that had ever been tried in what was Yuogslavia before. In other
words, with the Yu history, nothing other than socialism would have stopped
civil war; remove socialism and we have a return to the days of Slavic
slaughter rather than brotherhood.

Yugoslavia survived without fratricidal war for forty years precisely
because of socialism. Any other analysis, Trot or Stalinist, leaves one
measuring the Yugoslavs by something other than themselves and their
history. Their history has but one time of national peace; the era of
socialism.

Now, nothing you say (as far as I am concerned) about modern Yugoslavia
should be considered until it proves that Milosevic isn't a distorted but
actual legacy of Yugoslavian socialism. Lets start there, and then we can
deal with "the Leninist position on Self- Determination".
