I am amazed, I will always be amazed, at the discovery that same
phenomena that take place in Russia today take place, though in a
"milder" form, in Argentina (inverted commas to be soon explained).

Cavallo and his crew of IMF bullies took steer of the Ministry of
Economy under the motto: "We are going to do a crash landing". A
crash landing.

The only difference, perhaps, is that since Argentina was never
socialist, it had a lower level to fall down from. So that we do not
have so much "surplus population", and our elderly are not so
concentrated in a marvelous past, and (hopefully) our young
generations are sick to see "the same thing again and again" while
Russians may still have some hope in capitalism.

But genocide against the elderly, replacement of "old fashioned"
officials with heartless young "technicians", and so on, are all a
constitutive part of the packet.

Yes, Mark is right and maybe we have crashed in Argentina already. As
a friend of mine (none of a Marxist, but with a wit) uses to say
"Maybe there is a confusion in this country. Probably we are here
after working hours and the shop is closed, but they forgot to tell
us".
