Hello Tahir,

I am profoundly interested in the international Communism movement
and have been since I was a teenager - so perhaps I am just being a
bit impatient. I was worried that many nice sounding solutions are in
fact practically unattainable hence dissolve into mere hope rather
than active success.

Your elaboration was interesting but I still have problems with it
becoming a reality. You mention the 'debate and critique' on the net
'forging common understandings' - well in view it seems to be more of
the former leading to less of the latter. Its very format leads too
often to argument and counter-argument often at great length and
frequently leading to a circle of digression. Unlike the old
fashioned political meetings where a pre-prepared thesis would be
stated and questions and discussion would follow hopefully leading to
some sort of consensus arise in the room. I'm not sure that this new
technology necessarily leads to better means of caring out politics.

Perhaps this is an example of its weakness ! ! !

I can agree with your aims but it is still not clear whether you aim
to put them forward and convince others of the correctness of your
ideas or to enter into genuine debate forging agreement depending on
the views of 'the large number of people'. You talk of struggle but
what form does the struggle take - 'debate and critique' ?

I agree with your general sentiment of what you are saying but I do
feel you need to elaborate it in further detail. One part I did find
puzzling it where you say:

'The theory of communism lies in the critique of capitalism' surely
if Marx argued anything it was more than this! His was not a 'theory'
of communism it was the action of communism, the practice that would
bring it about. It was not a mere critique of capitalism but its
physical overthrow. Even books of quotation give his famous adage
about philosophers seeking to explain the world whereas communists
sought to change it. If that is not what you mean then you are
probably right you would be better off reading a book, playing drums
or getting pissed.

Perhaps it is just the way you have worded it, or perhaps I
mis-understand you, but if what your are saying is that all one needs
to do it hold up the flay of theory and wait for a 'large number of
people' to 'forge common understandings' of it , then I definitely
think you are either going to be unsuccessful or event will pass you
by. You attack me as an 'interrogative-type' but if any of us are
going to succeed we need to be able to hold our ideas up to hard
questioning either on the internet or on the streets.

Comradely regards,
John Walker
