Dear Mark! Great to hear from you! Thanks for heading your mail "off list" because I daily am getting nearly 150 messages and I have to mass-delete most of them without reading them, unfortunately. I always want to see yours, particularly private mail. ON Palestine, I think the Intifada is great. Arafat can't control the streets at all, he goes off to talk with Barak and Albright (and CIA director Tenet, please note-- because they want to treat this as a security matter -- crack down in such a way that this will never happen again -- that's their aim.) But meanwhile the revolution continues. Hamas has called for Friday to be a special day of escalation, demos when people come out of the mosques in the early afternoon. I expect (hope) for more action then. It's sad people suffer, but revolution really can't be made without breaking eggs. This daily violence puts tremendous pressure on all the Arab regimes from their people, but it's in the nature of such things that if the momentum is lost, it all peters out. So let's keep fanning the flames! With revolutionary greetings!
