Over the past 8 weeks, at least 250 Palestinians have been killed and 12,000 injured by Israeli soldiers, policemen and armed settlers. It is essential that as we look at the daily confrontations, we also address the history of injustice that lies at the root of the conflict. As Americans and other residing in the United States, we must also examine the role of U.S. foreign policy in the region and its effect in the present day situation. For those who have worked on Palestinian issues, this is the time to bring your friends and acquaintances that are interested in knowing more, and to participate in the discussion as we set an agenda for future community and campus work withing the context of a rapidy evolving comprehensive national movement for Palestine. A COMPREHENSIVE TEACH-IN READER, available at registration or prior to the teach-in, provides information on all subjects to be discussed, and presents additional information and references for further reading. As mentioned above, the reader is available to be picked up prior to the teach-in, so that those interested can read on the subjects ahead of time and get more out of the discussions that day. NATIONAL CO-SPONSORS ON THE "TEACH-IN ON THE QUESTION OF PALESTINE" are: American-Arab Anti-Discrimination Committee (ADC), Peace Action, American Friends Service Committee, Christian Peacemakers Teams, Fellowship of Reconciliation (U.S. Branch), Friends of Sabeel (North America), Guiding Star, Mennonite Central Committee, Student Peace Action Network, War Resiosters League, and Women's International League for Peace & Freedom. _____________________________________________________________________________________ Get more from the Web.
