Damn, here am I putting stuff on the list which is unobtainable anywhere
else--one scoop after another-- and all you do is ask for it in print. I
dunno. If I didn't like you so much...

Sorry to hear about your eyes, but I have the same problem, and that is why we
are two crotchety old farts together I spose. Try printing it.

PS I've just been to see Under Enemy Eyes or whatever it's called: the
Franco-German production about Stalingrad. It was watchable but an overall
failure, plus full of historical and technical error. I recommend it if only
for the spectacularly toe-curling moment when Rachel Weisz, the English
actress who plays the Russian heroine, describes, in the mincing
upper-class-twit tones of a girl salad-fresh from an English public school,
the horrible, absolutely awful, tortures inflicted by the Bosches on her Mama
and Papa. Incidentally all the Russians are played by Brits--Bob Hoskins as
Khrushchev, Ralhp Fiennes as the tormented Jewish commissar, Jude Law as the
sharpshooter--while most of the German bad-guys are played by Yanks: is this
French malice? Probably, altho I don't know anything about director Jacques
Annaud, who probably lives in Beverley Hills.
