Thank you! :D > Applied a little change: tell Numpad users to try both Numlock on and off. Good point. However, I've moved this bit of information into the main message as I found it distracted a bit from the movement graphics. > And give one reason for vi keys by mentioning laptops. Sorry, but I really don't think this is pertinent information. If the player already is using a laptop without number pad, they'll realize the significance of an alternative movement system of their own; if they aren't, they either won't care or already prefer using vi keys. Either way, giving an explanation about vi keys amounts to, "You probably don't see the point of this, but believe me, there are players who need this", which is entirely correct of course, but not actually necessary for the tutorial. :) > 1. _Run down this corridor with Shift-9 or Shift-PgDn. > These both are for Numpad users. I'm actually pretty happy about the current terse state of the movement explanations. I guess that's what the vi keys are there for. > 2. The first map looks about finished now, though I still need to work out how to make the tutorial set the player's starting stats depending on map type, e.g. the current early hunger is out of place for movement, but will feature in the monster and item tutorials. Likewise, starting inventory may differ. Thanks for the feedback!
