Evening all, Due to a recent vulnerability in part of their sytem, SourceForge shut down all shell access to their CVS and other versioning system servers. This was fine for us, though it did mean that updating out post-commit hooks was a bit painful. Unfortunately, they have now re-eneabled mostly everything, but disabled access to sendmail.
This latter disabling rendered our two update hooks useless, and had the further effect of making it impossible to push due to the hooks causing errors. I have resolved this issue by removing the hooks. This has the following effect: 1. It is now possible to push to SourceForge, hooray! 2. No c-r-c emails. :( 3. No ##crawl-dev IRC messages from CIA. There is no indication as to how much time it will take SourceForge to bring sendmail access back up on their hosts, or even if they will. Thus, if we want c-r-c emails, we will need to come up with a secondary option. bhaak has suggested that we use RSS as a temporary workaround, but I'm not personally cognizant enough of SourceForge's RSS interface in order to personally write a script that generates commit messages. Hopefully someone will have an idea! -J ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ The ultimate all-in-one performance toolkit: Intel(R) Parallel Studio XE: Pinpoint memory and threading errors before they happen.
