This week we were contacted by the Institut de la Francophonie numérique
(IFN/OIF) and they offer support for translation costs EN/FR plus travel
+ lodging for 10 participants in LGM 2010 from countries connected to
the OIF network.
It means you could present your project in French without losing your
Anglophone audience and vice versa ;-) but it is also a great
opportunity to expand the network of developers involved in LG.
It does mean that we need to organise a bit different than usual: these
10 tickets will need to be paid in advance through Constant instead of
being reimbursed afterwards. So, if you know someone in your network who
is important for Libre Graphics / projects involved in it, and who is
fitting the requirements ... please write me (cc to
[email protected]) as soon as possible but before March 22.
- Developers/participants from selected countries in Central and Eastern
Europe, Afrika, Asia (see list below)
- If possible, equal representation of men and women
- Preferably French speaking
I roughly translated; see below for more precise criteria in French. It
is going to be a bit of an administrative hassle to make this work so I
hope you trust us with drawing up the final list.
Just to be extra clear: we seem to be doing more or less doing ok with
finding money for LGM -- those 10 participants coming in through
Francophonie will not replace anyone that would normally be supported
for his/her participation in LGM.

- les frais de transport/hébergements de certains
intervenants/conférenciers et participants sélectionnés par le comité
organisateur des LGM (avec comme contrainte côté OIF qu'ils soient
majoritairement originaire de pays d'Europe centrale et orientale,
d'Afrique et d'Asie membres de l'OIF; de préférence maîtrisant
relativement bien la langue française (en plus d'être anglophone), avec
une recherche autant que possible d'un équilibre hommes / femmes),
- les frais de traduction anglais/français et français/anglais de toutes
les interventions/conférences
Par ailleurs et comme entendu, je vous prie de trouver ci-après la liste
des pays membres de l'OIF d'Europe centrale et orientale, d'Afrique,
voir éventuellement d'Asie à privilégier majoritairement dans le cadre
de cette éventuelle contribution financière (volet prise en charge
d'intervenants/conférenciers et de participants):
- Europe centrale et orientale : Albanie, Arménie, Bulgarie, Moldavie,
Roumanie ;
- Afrique de l'Ouest : Bénin, Burkina Faso, Cap-Vert, Côte d'Ivoire,
Ghana, Guinée, Guinée Bissau, Mali, Niger, Sénégal, Togo ;
- Afrique centrale et océan indien : Burundi, Cameroun, Centrafrique,
Congo, Congo RD, Gabon, Guinée équatoriale, Rwanda, Tchad, Comores,
Djibouti, Madagascar, Maurice ;
- Afrique du nord et Moyen-Orient : Egypte, Liban, Maroc, Tunisie
- Asie : Cambodge, Laos, Vietnam
L'idée n'est pas d'inviter les ressortissants de tous ces pays mais d'en
inviter un certain nombre de ces 5 régions du globe qui pourraient
apporter une réelle valeur ajoutée aux LGM et aux projets qui y sont
présentés.
