It seems like the migration scripts from the base module are not being run. At least the logs do not mention it. You should see something like the following line in your logs: openerp.modules.migration: module base: Running migration [>6.x.x.x] pre-migration Also, the queries that you run manually are in the base module's pre- migration.py. That can be explained by the following: I see references to the following directory in your log: /home/quentin/.virtualenvs/openerp- server-6.1/local/lib/python2.7/site- packages/openerp-6.1_20120902_231958-py2.7.egg, which looks like you are running a nightly build from OpenERP-server, not OpenUpgrade-server. (but then, how can the other migration scripts find the OpenUpgrade lib?)
