Most C-Reduce development is done under Perl 5.10 and 5.14. I'm
guessing 5.16 will be fine too.

I will try to install locally a more recent perl distro. Hopefully perl
5.16.0 should be ok.
Also, in an attempt to use git-bisect and choosing a 'good' commit, I
started off with e2aa978, but that one doesn't even compile so I will go
the route of a different perl first to see if it makes a difference.
