The findings and recommendations from these Thematic meetings will be validated at a pre-review conference organised by the ePSIplus Network in close cooperation with the European Commission. We would like to invite you to attend a Thematic meeting dedicated to the discussion of possible extension of the scope of the Directive into the Cultural Heritage sector. The meeting will be held in Paphos, Cyprus on September 10-11, 2007. The focus is on an important PSI sector - Cultural Heritage, including information held by libraries, museums and archives. Public sector organisations holding such information are currently exempt from the scope of the PSI Directive and a legitimate question arises about whether there is a case for bringing cultural information under the scope of the Directive. This meeting will address this question and bring together key representatives and experts from various cultural information value chains as well as experts on aspects surrounding exploitation of PSI (such as legal, copyright and policy issues). The meeting will have a highly interactive character and participants will have the chance to bring forward their views.
