In my opinion,

 * 4 looks best so far. However...
o I'd use a font that is made for being printed big. Right now,
the R has a weird wiggle that is made to look good when printed
small but looks awkward so large; the serif in the large C also
looks clumsy right now. A goof alternative font to use here
would be Trajan Pro (part of Adobe CS6), or a respective open
       source alternative.
o I'd also get rid of the grey background, as it looks cheap when
printed on a budget Laser. Alternatively you could either use a
very thin equally grey frame with 0.25pt or 0.5pt border with,
to achieve the same effect, while looking good in print. Or you
could blow up the CIDOC CRM to the size of the frame, to be its
own frame. The lower left corner is then defined by
CONCEPTUAL..., which I'd adapt to have the same grey as the
frame (actually use the darker option). Then the frame acquires
iconographic meaning as it becomes the frame of REFERENCE for
       CIDOC CRM.
o Color-wise, please color the large C dark as in RM, and the IDOC
       lighter, as it is secondary.
 * The white bars in 1, 2, 3, and 5 are an absolute no-go, as they make
it very hard to read, there is no obvious meaning associated, and
scaling the logo becomes very dificult (small uses and large uses).
 * 6, 7, and 8 look modern and elegant, but ultimately stale. The font
looks so 1990s including the shadow in 7. The bold-thin pattern is
now used so widely that it went from elegant to mundane, sort of over.

BTW: You also need a version that works as a small square, for e.g. as a symbol in browser tabs. I'd use a large C and inscribe a smaller RM into it, in the same font color as the large logo, no background.

Best, Max
