Hi Dan,

I normally recommend to deal with them as types, as long as they are celebrated as a social event in the widest sense, which is the instantiation. 14 of July is not even an event in that sense, but a component of the system describing dates. We can introduce all 14s of July as another temporal construct, in addition to time-span. I can check for the respective good practice of modeling them.

Cheers,

martin

Friends,

What the best way to model recurring events (e.g. Easter, 14 Juillet).

Period ? Event ? TimeSpan ? Type ? None seems ideal to me.

Not even TemporalEntity, since:

"In case the defining kinds of phenomena for an instance of E2
Temporal Entity cease to happen, and occur later again at another
time, we regard that the former E2 Temporal Entity has ended and a new
instance has come into existence. In more intuitive terms, the same
event cannot happen twice."

Thanks,

Dan
