of DARIAH EU will hold an online open meeting on *Thursday, 18

Aside a brief recap of the goals and activities undertaken by the
working group, we would like to invite thesauri maintainers to attend
the meeting (short presentations on relevant work or projects
underway/past are welcome).
The Thesaurus Maintenance working group focuses on the study and
management of controlled vocabularies. Its main goal is to propose a
model that ensures the interoperability of thesauri used across
scholarly communities, namely: the BackBone Thesaurus
<https://www.backbonethesaurus.eu/> (BBT).
The BBT is an overarching meta-thesaurus for humanities research data,
inspired by CIDOC CRM. It offers top-level concepts (facets and
hierarchies) that can serve as the common ground for thesaurus
building. It relies on a faceted classification.
The BBT proposes the conceptual model for a federation of thesauri,
brought together through an open-ended, core set of terms.
The open meeting will report on past and current work, issues that
need to be addressed and plan next steps.
The agenda of the meeting will be announced by the end of next week.
