I have used nomisma.org in ARIADNEplus.
In the mappings, a coin is both an E22 and a NumismaticObject. Moreover
materials are both nomisma:Material and E57_Material while
denominations are nomisma:Denomination and E55_Type. So, I use multiple
classification.
A typical problem that nomisma.org helps to solve is the diverse
terminology used in the different datasets. And since nomisma.org is
widely used in numismatics, I believe it is a good choice for integration.
I created mappings from the local vocabularies to nomisma. For instance,
the material bronze is mapped to nomisma.org/id/ae
