It is not a good idea, especially since CIDOC is just the acronym, in all the three official languages the committee's name is International Committee for Documentation etc. The opinion of George, Dominic, Martin and me is that we keep CIDOC when taking and writing about the CRM. This has also been cleared with Trilce, the chair of CIDOC.. We should also keep in mind that many form outside the ICOM community use the term "CIDOC" as the name of the CRM. When I talk about the CIDOC I often have to explain that I talk about the International Committee and not the model.
