This is a disaster. I don't have the foggiest what to do at this point, and
we have to get a build done today.

I have to say, my experience with Git so far is that it was a *really* bad
idea to switch. In 6 years of working on Eclipse.org we've never had a
corrupt repo. What kind of RCS allows this to happen?
