Warm-up for the warm-up ... I have "restored" the Indigo SR2 builds ... using some of my usual "quick fixes" [1] to get it running ... and did promote the results to the SR2 staging (maintenance) area [2], in case any of you that have been making fixes want to do some early testing. See the Indigo Release Plan [3] for detailed dates for the 4 RCs and remember, unlike previous SRs, we have changed to a "Friday-to-Friday" aggregation window (like we do for Juno or other main releases).
I probably won't update the staging area again until we are well into RC1, but committers should feel free to ask for a promotion any anytime one is needed, even if slightly "off cycle". As projects update things (repos and contribution files), expect that the build will break occasionally so please attend to any failure notices you get, even if not due to your changes, but due to your dependencies making changes, and fix issues quickly so the build keeps going ... even if it is not exactly your +n time. As always, don't hesitate to ask for help if needed. Thanks all ... before you know it, we'll have yet another service release to delight the community. You can expect it to be fixed by Monday, 1/9, at the latest. And, just in time! As a reminder to all, Indigo "warm-up" RC1 runs from January 13 to January 20th. Remember it is called "warm-up" since we do not expect it to be a true "release candidate", important fixes will be not necessarily be in it, and they will be added in subsequent RCs, we don't expect adopters to invest much in final acceptance testing with RC1, and its purpose it to mostly make sure we can all still build the Indigo stream, get in sync with each other, etc. Subsequent RCs (2, 3) should be planned to be true release candidates (ideally include the final SR2 versions for many projects) with the absolute final build being RC4: final aggregation build 2/15, for release on 2/24. Thanks for the poke. Did I miss the last chance to be in SR2 already?
