No. I'm glad you asked. The artifact.xml file does not need to be signed nor packed, with pack200. Just "zip" it back up to artifacts.jar. I know some build procedures will blindly create artifact.jar.pack.gz files, but those are not used, and can be deleted. Thanks for asking,
