We've had the same issue in Sirius (see
https://bugs.eclipse.org/bugs/show_bug.cgi?id=501299). Apparently
metacity is considered legacy and not available anymore in SLES12. The
replacement is 'mutter', which we could not make to work. 'icewm' is
also pre-installed and should work, but for some reason we have not been
able to investigate yet, we get lots of new errors when using it on the
HIPP.
