Brian,

Are you going to try to contribute DTP 1.14.1 to Oxygen.2? I think EGit is
about to request a respin, so there might be an opening to fit it in. It would
be better than staying with the version that’s known to be broken until
Oxygen.3.

Thanks,

- Konstantin

Thank you Konstantin for the build fix!

I will do some basic testing to verify that DTP is operating normally with
Oxygen.2

Brian

Currently, DTP contributes version 1.14 to the aggregation, which actually has
compile time errors against the Oxygen platform. The contributed build was
produced for Oxygen M4. It appears that some time after that, a breaking change
was made in the platform, but the major version of the bundle in question was
not incremented. So aggregation wasn’t blocked requiring action from DTP, but
presumably some subset of DTP functionality has not functioned as of Oxygen.
Aleksandar Kurtakov did find and report the issue in May [1], but as folks
probably know, DTP isn’t actively staffed by anyone, so non-blocking issues
aren’t likely to get the time of day from anyone.
That’s enough history. I spent some time today to prepare a DTP 1.14.1 build
that addresses this issue, but I don’t have the time to test this build or to
shepherd the change into aggregation. Frankly, I can’t even tell you what
functionality is currently broken. DTP is a large functional area and I am not
an expert. I only got involved to unjam the last aggregation issue.

So, if someone is interested in testing DTP 1.14.1 and shepherding it into
Oxygen.2 or another release, I will make a build available shortly.

Thanks,

- Konstantin
