Microsoft support for Windows XP, including security updates, ended in
April 2014 and Windows XP has not been listed as a target environment for
the Eclipse Platform for several years. However, there is still a
significant amount of legacy code in SWT that deals specifically with
Windows XP, to the point that it is making it difficult for the SWT
developers to evolve SWT for newer versions of Windows.

Given this, and the small number of active SWT committers, and the
comparatively very limited consumption of Windows XP, we plan to remove XP
related code for Photon (4.8).

Please speak up if that causes a serious problem for you.
