I agree the "Signed-Off-By" is becoming a point of friction and making the contribution barrier higher than for many other projects. I went through https://www.eclipse.org/projects/dev_process/ for a reference about Signed-Off-By and couldn't see anything on that matter. So it seems to me Signed-Off-By is not an actual requirement of the EDP. So we should seek for less intrusive way to get contributors agreeing with ECA and automating this check, for example doing the exact same things as is currently done, but with the committer email address directly. I've added Architecture Council as CC to handle that discussion as it may relate to the implementation of the EDP. Cheers,
