Hey everyone, Due to pack200 being no-op since Eclipse 4.16 when run on Java 14+ (as the JVM removed the needed underlying tools) Eclipse TLP is planning the following changes: * 2021-09 release - no pack200 artifacts being generated and published * 2022-06 release - p2 APIs will ignore everything pack200 and not deal with pack200 at all * 2023-06 release - p2 pack200 specific APIs will be entirely removed
It's documented in the recommendations [1] and removals[2] documentation for upcoming 2021-06 release. We strongly advise projects to stop generating and publishing pack.gz files even for the 2021-06 release.
