One of the major new features enabled by the latest Crossbow snapshot  
we released earlier today is the ability to create completely virtual  
networks through the creation of "etherstubs" (previously refered to  
as as "anchor VNICs" on this list.)

In order to illustrate these concepts, I just published a blog entry  
which shows how etherstubs can be used to create a private virtual  
networks of zones communicating with the physical network via NAT  
running in the global zone on the same machine. The same mechanism  
also applies to xVM server x64 virtual machines since xVM uses  
Crossbow for its network virtualization.
