Yes, but the config option causes crashes, and if that is the case, it
shouldn't be an option when that will occur.

Trimming works when the client is compiled against gtk2 using
maligor's patch found at:
http://bluemist.ath.cx/~maligor/cf-gtk2.patch

This approach will show the option if it is safe to use, and remove it
if it isn't.
