I'm thinking that a policy should be made, and put up somewhere. Possibly use these main points: - commiter SHOULD attribute in cvs commit message. - someone WILL attribute in the changelog (one with the code, not the one cvs keeps) - unless it is a huge change, do not expect attribution in the form of a comment in the code - if you feel that something was improperly attributed, bring it up on the mailing list to get it fixed
