One of the arguments I had for GTK-V1 back in the day was the font size... It was nice and small compared to GTK-V2. I think that is still an issue for small screens. It would be nice to be able to do something about that in GTK-V2 without making someone change the font for GTK2 system-wide. Not changing the reply here, just making note of one thing GTK-V1 still has over GTK-V2 despite the layout capability in GTK-V2.
