Well I already cherry-picked and rebased commit from PR 2211 - there were
few conflicts related to changes in package installer. I think I can push it
in new PR - of course Jingfu will be the author of this commit.

Given that the lack of an actual implementation for those methods was my
concern in that PR, lgtm.
