Hi Rob (or anyone else),

As I'm waiting for the backend refactoring to settle down, I'm working with Ken on the front end side of things. To be productive there we need to populate our instance with sample data, and I'm intending to do that with the standard "rake db:seed".

I'm not familiar with Erlang, but looked briefly at the existing simulator code in the BDD test suite. It appears to insert the data from read dev.config into the database. Is that all? Or am I missing something?

There's also this Trello card:
https://trello.com/card/ui-update-to-simulator-to-populate-crowbar/50809fb54fa7ad9c1a000f4d/153

What's the plan for that? Any compelling reason to populate the database in Erlang rather than standard Rails way?

Thanks,
James T.
