Raajeev,

Thanks for the feedback.

I'm looking to create a RAID1 (mirror) on the OS drives and 12 RAID 0
volumes of 3TB each on the 12 3TB drives.

Our target hardware is 12 Dell 720xd boxes. They are currently
configured without the 2 OS drives in use and with the 12 3TB drives
configured as 12 2TB RAID0 volumes, with the first 2TB volume standing
in for the OS drives.

This configuration means that 1/3 of our storage is unavailable because
of the limits in the Crowbar RAID/BIOS (not sure which actually causes
the limit).

Given the OSS status difference between 1.6 and pebbles, do you have any
suggestions on which is a better target for this enhancement?

Also, I haven't dug too deeply into the source code for Crowbar/Chef so
I don't have a good idea of how complex this proposed change might be.
Is it simply a issue of re-scripting the hardware discovery for our
specific configuration and dictating the correct RAID config or are
there deeper complications?

Thanks,

~jpr
