My apologies for dragging it so far, but my point was to make the three APIs
viz min/max/sort all based on similar concept i.e. either using S as comparable
or using WritableComparable and not about any optimizations. I think that the
min/max are special cases of sort. But for now, it is best to park this
discussion and take it on dev list at some point in time.
