George, I see you've decided to go with the MSD setup, you won't be
disapointed. Let me share a few things I learned along the way:
1) Re gap your plugs. Stock on the CRX Si is .042in[1.06mm], but at idle I
would get a bad vibration at around 750rpm or so (also, partly because of
the energy suspension engine mounts...I bumped the plug gap up to
.055in[1.39mm] and the power delivery and idle smoothed out. I might try
going up to a .060in[1.52mm] gap to see if it runs any better.
2) Try and get the dimensions of the MSD6A A.S.A.P. to pick out a mounting
location for the MSD box...it looks small, but it's a pain to find a good
locating point.
3) Wiring the setup is a cinch.
4) If your planning on going with a monster tach, to save re-looming stuff
under the hood, wire the tach in with the MSD box, the box has an outlet to
plug in a tach, it'll be simpler that way, rather than splicing into your
dissy harness twice.
5) Go with new plug wires, and plugs, and a new MSD cap, and rotor.
6) BE CAREFUL! THE COIL IS CAPABLE OF EMITTING ENOUGH ELECTRICITY TO
SERIOUSLY RUIN YOUR WEEKEND!!!!!!
